Integrative Psychotherapy, Arts Therapy and Counselling online at present

Natalie Kennedy (AdvDip, BA (hons), PGDip, MA, UKCP, HCPC)

Welcome

My name is Natalie and I am a UKCP Integrative Psychotherapist, Counsellor and HCPC registered Arts Therapist. I have been seeing clients for over 16 years in a range of settings including the NHS. I am also a University Lecturer, Trainer, and Group Facilitator. I currently see adults, parents, young people and children in my online space. I work with adopters, foster carers and special guardians in partnership with local authorities across London and the South East. I also run courses and training in London and the home counties.

I work with people born in the UK, or who have come here to work from continental Europe and South America. I also have clients in mainland Europe and am aware of the complexities that come from creating a life in a different country and of working therapeutically in a culturally sensitive way. Please contact me for further details.

I work from a trauma informed, psychodynamic, attachment, humanistic and neurobiological perspective. In practice that means I am interested in hearing your story, about your early experiences and relationships; and how this impacts your everyday life now. I am also curious about how the different ‘parts’ of you work in your life. If you imagine roles or ‘hats’ you might wear when you are with different people – the mother, people pleaser, inner critic, 'show off', hard worker etc... I will then think about how I can bring my clinical experience to support you as we work together towards the goals you have for yourself.

Both of my trainings have focused on relationships: the ones we have with ourselves and those we have with the people around us. When we work together the relational dynamics can act as ‘maps’ that we can work on together.

People usually think of therapy as hard work and often it is, however, it can also be a place to celebrate emotional shifts and changes that can be thought about together and then put into practice in your 'real' life.

I am experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with :
  • Panic Attacks
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Trying to build a life in a country that isn't your birth home or feeling a sense of not 'belonging'
  • Problems that seem to be passed from one generation to another
  • Recovering from childhood trauma
  • Re-framing life after a serious or chronic illness
  • Developing healthier relationships with family, loved ones, work colleagues or friends
  • Mid life and not knowing what's next
  • Artists whose creativity has become 'blocked', 'stuck' or 'lost'
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Life after being fostered, and
  • Ageing.

My psychotherapy and counselling room is located in Sydenham in South East London, within easy reach of Bromley, Tulse Hill, Brixton, Crystal Palace, Forest Hill, East Dulwich, Lewisham, Brockley, and Beckenham .
